What should I carry in my backpack to go to Machu Picchu?

PeruRail, which runs the Expedition, Vistadome and Luxury Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer trains to Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, posted this YouTube video with recommendations of must-have things to pack in your backpack or travel bag.

(Also click here to read about PeruRail’s regulations regarding baggage size and weight limits)

The items include: Sunscreen (make it strong, 80 SPF/UVB or higher is a good idea), insect repellent, lip balm (Chapstick), a wide brimmed hat, a light waterproof jacket and/or rain poncho. (PeruRail doesn’t mention it, so we will: A fully charged digital camera with a large memory card!!!)

As simple as that, a few items to make your trip to Machu Picchu or Lake Titicaca unforgettable.
