Fertur Peru Travel celebrates her Quinceañera

[Originally published October 30, 2009] We turned 15 today!

For those who don’t know, in Latin American culture, a girl’s fifteenth birthday marks a coming of age.

From humble beginnings in a shared office on Jirón  Belén, Fertur Peru Travel has grown to maturity with two offices in Lima (one in the historic center and the other in Miraflores) and earlier this year Fertur Peru inaugurated its new Cuzco office to manage direct ground operations.

It’s hard to express how proud Siduith and I are of our staff of travel advisers, hand-picked experienced guides and operations managers who dedicate themselves to ensure the satisfaction of every client through outstanding personalized service.

On behalf of Siduith and our fabulous team, I want to thank all of our customers and friends for their support.

Now that Fertur Peru Travel is full-grown “lady” we’re going to work even harder to provide the best travel services possible, before, during and after every customer’s journey.

Sharing is caring!

Rick Vecchio, Fertur’s director of development and marketing, was educated at the New School for Social Research and Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. He worked for Pacifica Radio WBAI and as a daily reporter for newspapers in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts. Then in 1996, he decided it was time to realize a life-long dream of traveling to Peru. He never went back. While serving as Peru country manager for the South American Explorers from 1997-1999, he fell in love with Fertur's founder, Siduith Ferrer, and they married. Over the next six years, he worked as a correspondent for The Associated Press. Meanwhile, Siduith built the business, which he joined in January 2007. Now he designs custom educational and adventure tour packages for corporate and institutional clients, oversees Fertur’s Internet platform and occasionally leads special trips, always with an eye open for a good story to write about.
