This 4 days in Ushuaia experience will treat you to the unforgettable natural wonders of “The End of the World” — the southernmost point in South America, renowned for its striking scenery and exotic wildlife. From this bustling port offers any number of adventure trips and excursions.
Things to do include trekking, canoeing and biking during the long summer days and winter sport activities like skiing and snowboarding during the frozen winters.
Kayak or canoe across the Beagle Channel and you will see the majestic ice-capped Martial Range in the distance, and spectacular wildlife up close, including sea lions, cormorants and penguins.
This thriving tourist town, replete with shops, restaurants and night-clubs, was originally home to the indigenous Yámana, who were subjects fascination and studied observation by Charles Darwin.
Within a couple of generations, the nomadic tribe was defenseless against — and ultimately doomed by — European diseases spread by British missionaries. The missionary outpost was later turned into a penal colony by Chile, but gave way to an Argentine naval outpost, and eventually was transformed into the small and isolated commercial port city it is today.
