There is nothing standard about this exclusive luxury boutique hotel. The Casa Cartagena hotel features original Inca walls and magnificent “frescos” from the colonial era, which were carefully restored in 2007 by the School of Fine Arts of Cusco. Declared a “Cultural Heritage Monument,” Casa Cartagena offers butler service and an in-suite buffet breakfast as standard services. The rooms are huge, maintaining their original Inca and colonial architecture, but with all modern amenities, including an oxygen enrichment system for altitude sickness.

Casa Cartagena is named after the Spanish colonial governor of Cusco, Don Fernando Cartagena y Santa Cruz, who lived in the mansion during the 17th century. The original building was restored using traditional techniques and materials: Adobe wall and leather, wood and red ceramic tiles for the roof.
It offers 16 opulant suites (8 standard, 6 master, as well as Presidential and Royal suites), all with butler service.
